Summer Space Series

June 20 & July 18 | 10:30 am – 1:00 pm

Join us for an exciting discussion of NASA’s newest next-generation observatory—the Nancy Grace Roman Space Telescope!

Targeted for launch this September, the Roman Space Telescope will help us answer some of the most profound questions in science – such as how the universe has evolved, its ultimate fate, and whether we are alone.

Roman’s cameras will be able to see an area 100 times larger than the Hubble Space Telescope, and its instruments will survey the universe 1,000 times faster.  The telescope has been designed to explore everything from our outer solar system to the edge of the observable universe, including planets throughout our galaxy and the mysteries of dark matter.

Explore NASA’s next flagship mission! This event is included with general admission.

Sensory Friendly Events

Three times a year, HMNS at Sugar Land offers Sensory Friendly Events where exhibits and venues are modified to create a sensory neutral environment for those with autism and sensory sensitivities. Sensory Backpacks, which include ear defenders, sunglasses, and fidgets, are available to check out with an ID at the Box Office, and Touch Carts with tactile specimens to explore will be available throughout the museum’s permanent exhibit halls. Pre-registration is required for these events, which take place during the hour before the Museum opens to the public. Tickets may be purchased at a discounted rate. Free permanent exhibit hall admission for Sensory Friendly Events at HMNS at Sugar Land is made possible by proceeds from our annual fundraiser, Jingle Tree. We are grateful to all our generous donors for their support.
